Utah trip!

Last weekend, we got the chance to fly up to Utah to attend one of my best friends wedding. My friend Mark and I grew up together and have know each other since we were about 5 or 6 years old. I was so excited for him and it was SO fun to see everyone else in his family and be able to share this special day with him and his new wife, Kim!
We got into Salt Lake City on Sunday evening and got a shuttle ride to our hotel. We met up with Mark's parents, Grandparents, and brother. We grabbed something to eat and then we went swimming with Jordan and Cassie, Mark's Cousin. It was such a fun night!
The next day, we went through the Salt Lake Temple with Mark and Kim. What an amazing experience! The Salt Lake Temple really is amazing. It's SO beautiful, inside and out.
later Monday afternoon, Alex and I hopped on the Tram and rode it to Sandy where we met Conner and Alissa for dinner. We've missed hanging out with this couple!
We ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse
then we went to the mall and walked around the stores.
then Alex and I rode the Tram back to Salt Lake and walked back to our hotel.
I've never ridden a Tram before. Haha Color me weird for getting excited about the little things but i thought it was a lot of fun!

Tuesday was the wedding day.
I got to do Kim's hair for the wedding, which was too fun. I love doing up-do's and styles and I don't get to do them enough., so this was a treat for me!
I didn't get an actual picture of her hair...
But if you go to my awesome friend Amy's Website {Here} you can see her amazing work and check out the bride's hair ;)
The wedding was Beautiful, as was the weather. It was about 80 degrees so for us Arizonian's it was perfect!
A storm hit in the afternoon and our power went out in our hotel! Luckily we were done with all the pictures by then though.
Alex always has to be a stinker with pictures. But this is us hanging out with Jordan while everyone was taking pictures.
That evening, they had a little Open House/ Picnic for Mark and Kim at a park.
The boys loved throwing the football around, and we ate some yummy food!
{Can't wait to cut his hair at the end of the summer!}
it was too fun to be reunited with my Harris 'Brothers'!
Congrats, Mark and Kim!

A 'Magical' Evening!

The Harry Potter opening night, was SO much fun! Our family was all about dressing up. This was the last movie after all, we had to go all out.
It helps when you have your very own Ron Weasley in your family.
THIS is my Brother in Law. He was a major hit.
We also had a good Draco Malfoy.
I was Hermione Granger who would never be smiling next to Draco, but what can I say? He's kinda hott!
and the two that added the most excitement {besides Stephen} to our bunch...
we had Hagrid and Professor McGonagall!
Our group together was a hit.
We were able to walk around to other the other theaters, and everytime we went into one, we were swarmed with people that wanted pictures with us.
My face started to get tired from smiling so much.
Paul (Hagrid) would tell all the girls that were flocking around Stephen (Ron) that if they wanted a picture with him they would have to give him a kiss! He got about 4 girls to kiss him on the cheek, haha, the rest got their picture anyway.
It got even better when we met two more characters that added to our ensemble.
We found this prized gem in our theater. Luna Lovegood!
and see that pretty pink lady in the front? that's right. The coolest Umbridge you'll ever see.
The movie was wonderful . I'm not going tot lie though, it's a little sad that it's all over!
I grew up with these books and I really loved looking forward to the next movie.
but i'll buy it and watch it all I want. :)
Okay, so I was just reading this over and realized we're kind of nerds.
Meh, whatever!

First 'married couple' talks!

Today in Church, Alex and I got to speak for the first time together! It was fun to see my name as 'Havig'
{it's still a little weird!} on the program, followed by my husband. :)

Did you think the youth speaker was Justin Bieber? that's ok, so did I.
My topic was a free for all. I got to choose what I want to speak about. I chose Temples! I felt so inspired that this should be my topic. I Love the temple so much, and in just the short time I've been going I feel like my life has been so blessed because of it.
Alex spoke on patriotism, and how we are a free country because it was essential to Heavenly Father's plan to have the church restored on the earth.
It was fun getting to 'introduce" us as a couple, I felt so grown up!
We had a great support system come out and cheer us on. {reverently, of course.}
Karley, Kaitlyn, Bret and Camaron came and watched. I'm so thankful to have such supportive friends! They're the best.

Our home

As I was cleaning this morning I realized that I never took/posted pictures of our apartment after we moved in and I usually do- just so in 10 years we can look back and say, "hey remember that shoe box we used to live in?". This little place has been good to us so far. It's smaller than I'd like, and we sometimes see the occasional roach. But that's one of the reason's I have a husband right? Bug catcher is his official title. I had all the furniture and furnishings we needed from living in my own apartment last year. So it was nice that we didn't have to spend any of our wedding money on new stuff. The kitchen is cute and quaint. The whole apartment smells like whatever you cooked for about 2 weeks after. But that's what candles and scentcys are for, right?
All negatives aside- {which really aren't that many considering where we could be living}, we love this little place. Mainly, because it's our first little home together.
